OUR MISSION:
The Destination Dream Foundation was born at Kent State University back in 2012 as the brand originally started as a "Destination Dream" a video media interview platform for local musicians. Our mission was to "Inspire the uninspired" artist to follow their dreams in terms of putting action behind their creative talents. The movement expanded in 2014 as we became successful in our first crowdfunding campaign via the Kick Starter platform as we raised over $2,000 for artist recognition for the inner city local Cleveland artist community.
Now creating the official "Destination Dream Foundation" we are dedicated to expanding our efforts of inspiring the uninspired inner city youth to invest in themselves by providing them with the opportunities necessary to create economic value from their business model by turning their creative ideas into generated revenue and personal capital. We plan to do this with the INDI Art House by creating unique programming opportunities for the youth.
Our Destination Dream “Art House” will be used to host after school programming such as our INDI Art Zone Workshops that are currently included in several elementary school curriculums located in the Cleveland area. We currently are hosting these workshops in (Harvard Rice Wrap-Around Elementary, Bolton Elementary , Fairfax Elementary and Roxboro Elementary School). Our Art House will also provide space for mental health and art education workshops that work to instill positive thinking, social emotional learning , confidence building and entrepreneurship education for our at-risk youth of the Buckeye area.
OUR WHY:
We are doing our work in the Buckeye community with the Destination Dream Foundation in order to simply inspire the uninspired youth of Cleveland. We are looking to decrease the mental health awareness rate in children by 50% in the next 5 years by focusing on art and business programming along with urban agriculture and community development by educating the youth on the value of their environment and where they live. We are focused on preparing the youth through our workforce development programming by utilizing our INDI Art House as a center for education and character development by creating accessibility to the arts in the heart of the community.
OUR TIMELINE:
From April to November 2022 our goal is for the INDI Art house to be actively being renovated on a monthly basis while focusing on certain project points and goals until we reach project completion in December 2022.
We plan to release a series of funding events promoting our IOBY Campaign that will coordinate monthly with our funding goal set for December 18th 2022.
